Nazareth could not be prouder to announce the valedictorian for the class of 2021, Olivia Fennell! Although Olivia says that being crowned as the top of her class was “a shock” because she “knows so many girls in my grade that are incredibly hardworking that I really didn’t know who to expect to be valedictorian,” it was not so surprising to the rest of her graduating class. She is the definition of being naturally smart and incredibly generous. She is always the first to help others with difficult subjects. When the room was full of puzzled faces, Olivia was the one to count on to put the pieces together. Although she graced this school with her intelligence, this honor did not come easily. She worked hard for everything she has earned. Her favorite memories at Nazareth come from AP Chemistry with Mrs. Scott, also known as “one of the hardest courses” she’s ever taken. The class may have been difficult and exhausting at times, but she could not have gotten through it without the endless support of her Naz sisters. The bond those girls formed made all the difference in the world and helped Olivia achieve her goals. Apart from her stellar academics, Olivia is known at Nazareth for being involved with just about everything. She is the President of the National Honors Society, the Lead Senior Editor of Yearbook, a proud member of Student Council, and an officer in the Community Service Corps (CSC). Her relentless work ethic carried through in all that she did. She tackled every challenge head-on and tried her best to help with whatever anyone needed. Nazareth is certain that her uplifting attitude and determination will help her greatly succeed in the years to
come. Olivia recently committed to continue her academic studies at Drexel University as a Biomedical Engineering major. She is even considering the possibility of pursuing medical school in the future, with a career goal of becoming an anesthesiologist. Although she is excited to continue this next stage of her life, she will greatly miss the dear NA. When asked what she will miss most about the place she called home for the last four years, and she replied, “What I’ll miss the most at Naz is the people. I’ve met some of my closest friends here, and I’ve created bonds with many teachers that I’ll never forget. Everyone is so supportive, and I’ll miss the community here.” She is beyond thankful for having the opportunity to attend Nazareth and is grateful for everyone who has believed in and supported her throughout her
high school journey. Congratulations Olivia! Nazareth is so proud of you and everything you have accomplished throughout your time here. We cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you.
