The Christmas and winter seasons are a great time for sweet treats like cookies! This easy recipe makes about 22 delicious cookies with a total bake time of twenty minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
- 2 cups plain all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 320*F/gas mark 3. Line a large baking sheet with baking paper.
- Beat the butter with an electric mixer until light and creamy. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and beat for several minutes, stopping to scrape down the side of the bowl a few times.
- Sift together the baking powder and the flour. Beat this into the creamed mixture until mixed thoroughly.
- Using a cookies scoop, scoop the dough into mounds on the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches in between each.
- Bake for 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the pan for a few minutes before scooping off onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust the cooled cookies generously with the powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container.
