On April 4 was Naz-a-thon, Nazareth’s annual 12-hour dance marathon! Started in 2013, this charity has raised over a million dollars for various units at CHOP, with proceeds benefitting the child life department this year. Since the beginning of the school year, students have been hard at work, gathering support through their donor drives and attending dine outs and other events that contribute to this amazing cause. Finally, the wait was over, and the big day arrived, with the gym beautifully decorated in this year’s theme color: purple. At 8:30, the entire school stood up for the next twelve hours and kicked off the event with the hourly morale dance!
Highlights of the day included the dodgeball tournament (won by the seniors), a performance by XWF, a band from Holy Ghost Prep, and snacks provided by Utter’s Popping Cakes and Kona Ice. In addition, the annual Lip-sync battle provided fun, entertainment, and lots of laughs; and was won by two freshmen! At last, after a long but exciting day, the grand fundraising total was announced: $172, 603.47! This total was around $5,000 over the amount raised last year and truly demonstrates the dedication by the Naz-a-thon executive team and the growing enthusiasm for a great cause. Special thank you to Senior Executive of Operations Annabella Davies ’25 for all the hard work she put in as the student leader of Naz-a-thon, and to Mrs. Sylvester for making this day possible. It was another wonderful year of fundraising and as always: For the Kids! 4TK❤️
