Coming into the PCL the Pandas made a statement going undefeated. This is a huge accomplishment for the swim team, considering they were the “new kids” on the block. However, Katie Pollock, ’25, says the teams were nice and welcoming. With the swim team having a small team of 13 or 14 last year, the team grew, having 25 swimmers on the team this year. Most new members have not seen it before, but Katie says everyone improved at every practice throughout the season. Senior captains Tatum McHugh and Emma Crumbock were great leaders and role models for the team. There was never a dull moment or meet, as they kept the morale up.
On February 2nd, Tatum and Emma were honored at their senior meet at Bensalem High School. The seniors were honored after the diving events finished, and honored the Holy Ghost Prep seniors as well.
Over President’s Day weekend, the team competed in the PCL and District finals! The championship for all swimmers is in the morning, followed by the district championship for the swimmers who have made their time cuts. The pandas came home with both wins under their belt, bringing home another PCL championship for Nazareth! Many swimmers finished with personal best times.
Several swimmers made the 2024 state team. For the 200 Freestyle Relay: Emily White ’25, Meredith Hawkinson ’27, Anna Wicker ’27, and Sophia Motvydas ’26. Tatum McHugh for the 1 Meter 11 Dives. Congratulations to Delaney Glynn ’25 for being chosen as an alternate for the 200 Freestyle Relay! Congratulations Pandas! We are all so proud of you.
