On Tuesday, April 21, the Nazareth Academy Music Department held their annual Spring Concert. The audience heard lovely performances from the Orchestra, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Pandemonium, Chorus, and Chorale. A wide variety of pieces were played and sung. The Orchestra performed two fantastic medleys, one from Beauty and the Beast, and the other from Les Miserables. The Jazz Band played a few songs as well, including the fan favorite “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire. The String Ensemble sounded great performing “Hey Jude,” by The Beatles. After an intermission, the audience was delighted to hear the Guitar Ensemble perform “Purple Rain” by Prince. Then, the vocal half of the concert began. Pandamonium, Nazareth Academy’s acapella singing group, started off strong with an impressive rendition of “Someday” from Zombies, featuring soloists Anh Ngo and Anna Woltjen. Next, Chorale took everyone’s breath away with their beautiful performance, featuring two songs, including “Il Lampo,” which was in Italian. Last, but not least, the Chorus finished the concert and lifted everyone’s mood with their performance of a Disney medley, called “Songs of a Disney Hero.”
After the performance of each ensemble, the seniors were recognized for their many years in the music program and the great talent they brought to it. The seniors will be greatly missed, and good luck to all of them in their future endeavors!
